Hello, my name is PJ Mooney, and I am a composer, pianist, and vocalist from Omaha, NE. I am currently pursuing a master’s composition degree from the University of North Texas, studying under the guidance of Drs. Sungji Hong, Kirsten Soriano, and Andrew Schnurr, among others. As an artist, I strive to explore story-driven narratives, theatrics, social issues, and the queer experience through my music. I am especially driven by collaboration with other musicians, librettists, and artists, as well as finding unique ways of merging the arts with sciences and technology. My styles and genres of interest include neo-classical, neo-romantic, electroacoustic, music and modern contemporary musics.
